Minimizing natural disaster impacts: To enhance public awareness on forest conservation

Aiming to increase forest coverage in watershed areas of dams in Nay Pyi Taw Council area and have long-term durability, locals are urged to actively participate in the conservation of watershed areas and monsoon tree planting ceremonies are widely conducted in various regions and states.

As the Myanmar saying goes,"Weather depends on forests ",trees not only make the natural environment greening but also provide a lot of benefits such as habitats, food and oxygen for living beings. On the other hand, valuable trees can contribute to natural environment and has positive impact like favourable weather condition, groundwater conservation, soil quality improvement and reduction of the impact of natural disasters such as inundation, landslides and storms.

Due to deforestation, it can lead to deterioration of ecosystem, lack of water resources and declining irrigated water, along with extreme climate changes.

Nowadays, the government and its relevant departments are thriving to carry out environmental conservation effectively by protecting trees and forests from being destroyed.
