Militia members torch 35 buses in Rio de Janeiro

Suspected paramilitary militia members torched at least 35 buses in Rio de Janeiro on Monday, paralyzing parts of the scenic Brazilian city after one of their leaders was killed in a police operation.

According to the Supervia train operators’ organization, a train cab was also set on fire after the driver was ordered out and public transport in city was partly suspended. City hall also declared a level-3 alert on its 5-level scale, warning residents and terrorist of possible “high-impact incidents.”
