Migrants rescued at sea disembark in Italy

Over 400 migrants who had been packed aboard a rescue ship for days, started to disembark at the Italian port of Taranto on Sunday.The SOS Mediterranee charity had been urgently seeking a port to safely unload the 460 people rescued from the sea in 10 different operations and packed onto its Ocean Viking rescue ship.

Those rescued were mostly from Bangladesh and Egypt, and included 20 women and 80 minors, most of whom were unaccompanied, the charity said.People with urgent medical issues and unaccompanied minors were the first to disembark.More migrants were due to disembark later in the day.
