Migrants disembark from rescue ship in Italy

The Médecins Sans Frontières ship, the 'Geo Barents', docked in an Italian port on Saturday with hundreds of migrants on board. The rescue ship had 237 migrants aboard, 87 of them minors, as it docked in the port of La Spezia, in Northern Italy. The ship was directed to La Spezia by the Italian Interior Ministry last Thursday.

Along the route to La Spezia, the ship also rescued another boat in distress. Once disembarked, the migrants were given access to medical assistance before being transferred to temporary accommodation.
