Myanmar migrant workers continue to return home from Thailand since the Thai government amended its laws on foreign labor.
268 migrant workers (159 men and 109 women) who did not have the proper documents returned home on Monday through Myawaddy and also 39 migrant workers (21 men and 18 women) through Kyainseikkyi of Kayin State.
Officials inspected them to check whether terrorists, culprits, and counterfeit money makers were among them or whether they brought drugs, arms, or counterfeit money. The returnees were provided with food, water and other necessary assistance, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
