MIC Meeting: 14 new investments granted, creating over 1,500 jobs

14 new investments were granted during the Myanmar Investment Commission Meeting 1/2025 on Thursday. The meeting was attended by member of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister General Mya Tun Oo in his capacity as the Commission Chairman.

The newly granted investments included one foreign investment in service sector and thirteen local investments including industry, hotels and tourism and service sectors. In addition, the new investments coveredĀ  assembling the parts of electric vehicles, manufacturing the farm equipment and international standard health care services.

The total investment volumn for newly granted investments in over 3.6 million US dollars and more than 345 billion kyats. This could help create job opportunities for over 1,500 individuals. As of December 2024, 53 coutries and regions have made investments in Myanmar with the highest from Singapore, followed by China and Thailand. Among these investments, over 28% went to energy sector, over 24% in oil and natural gas and more than 14% in production sector.
