Mexico president proposes constitutional amendment to increase pensions

Mexican President on Monday unveiled an ambitious package of constitutional amendments including an increase in pensions and that Supreme Court justices are elected by direct vote.

The president said that the essence of these norms and new rights is to put public life back on the path of freedom, justice and democracy. And, these proposals are clearly different and opposed to the reforms that were approved during the neoliberal period, he added.
