Mexican President on sanctions against countries sending oil to Cuba

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced on Friday that she has instructed foreign minister to investigate the scope of the decree issued by the United States government to sanction countries that provide aid and send oil to Cuba.

The President said that in any case, the goal is to protect the country from suffering the effects of additional tariffs on nation’s trade and she wanted to seek diplomatic channels, avoiding confrontation, engaging in dialogue, and exploring different ways to provide support.
