Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thayay Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing sent a message on the occasion, marking the Kayin New Year Day on Thursday. In his message, the Senior General wishes all Kayin ethnic nationals physical and mental well-being.
Throughout history, the Kayin people have lived together in harmony and unity with all ethnic groups across the country. Moreover, during the colonial period, they actively participated in the struggle for the country’s independence alongside people from diverse ethnic backgrounds, sacrificing their lives, blood, and sweat.
The Prime Minister urged all Kayin ethnic people residing in Myanmar and across the region to preserve their traditional culture and customs in unison and hand them down to posterity. He emphasized that at present, the state and all national people are experiencing significant challenges in various fields due to the ongoing conflicts in the state, including some areas of Kayin State. All are urged to recognize that an area without stability and peace will be far from development and prosperity. The local ethnic people will face a low socio-economic status.
The State Administration Council is carrying out the State responsibilities, upholding “Our Three Main National Causes” of “Non-disintegration of the Union, Non-disintegration of national solidarity and Perpetuation of sovereignty” as the national duty. The State has been build by the constitution based on these national activities and no harm will be allowed to damage it.
In addition, the government always welcomes all ethnic organizations for the national peace to resolve all difficulties through discussions and negotiation in accordance with the agreements of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) without armed conflicts.
The Prime Minister concluded his message, stressing that only with collective efforts of the entire national people including Kayin nationals, for restoration of peace, stability and development of socio economic life that the country needs today, Myanmar will stand tall as a modern and developed nation among the global countries.
