Merits sharing ceremony: Sharing merits to the great martyrs leaders

The ceremony of sharing merits to the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation was held at the Yangon City Hall on Wednesday morning.

Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, Yangon region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials received Five Precepts from Vice Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Masoeyein monastery Sayadaw Buddhanta Ketara Biwunsa.

And then, sanghas and monks recited parittas. After that, Union Minister U Ko Ko, the Yangon Region Chief Minister and officials donated offertories to Sayadaws and monks and shared merits gained.

Likewise, a similar ceremony was held at the Nay Pyi Taw City hall on the same day and congregation led by Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council U Tin Oo Lwin took the Five Precepts from Presiding Sayadaw of Mingala Zeyone Pali Thekkathoe monastery in Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana Township and listened to the parittas.

Afterwards, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and party donated offertories to Sayadaws and monks and shared merits dedicating to fallen martyrs leaders. After the ceremony, they donated a day meal to Sayadaws and monks.
