









The opening ceremony for the 19th Vinayādhika Scripture Recitation Examination and the merits-sharing ceremony for religious buildings were held in front of the main entrance of Rāmañña Nikāya Sasanavara monastery in Kwan Raik Village, Chaungzon Township, Mon State, On January 14.
Initially, the members of Sangha, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, and the State Minister for Security and Border Affairs cut the ribbon to officially open the religious buildings.
Subsequently, the merits-sharing ceremony for the religious buildings continued at the monastety. The state chief minister and officials presented offerings to the members of Sangha, and shared the merits gained.
On the morning of the same day, the Mon State Committee on the Elimination of Child Labour held a coordination meeting at the Aung San Hall of the Mon State Government Office in Mawlamyine. Patron of the Mon State Committee on the Elimination of Child Labour and Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein attended the meeting and delivered opening remarks. Following presentations by the Secretary of the State Committee and the secretaries of eight subcommittees on the status of child labour elimination efforts, members of the state government provided suggestions and engaged in discussions. The chief minister coordinated necessary actions, delivered closing remarks, and provided overall guidance on the matter.
Later in the afternoon, the (1/2026) meeting of the Mon State Regional Tourism Development Committee was held at the Aung San Hall of the Mon State Government Office. Chairman of the Mon State Regional Tourism Development Committee and Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein,, delivered opening remarks. The Secretary of the Committee presented updates on tourism development progress, licensing matters, and general affairs within the state. After committee members submitted recommendations and engaged in discussions, the chief minister coordinated necessary actions and delivered closing remarks.
