Mercosur leaders determined to expand markets amid trade war

During the 68th Mercosur Summit in Buenos Aires of Argentina, regional leaders held a plenary session to advance global trade expansion. Prompted by rising international tariff wars, the bloc launched formal economic partnership negotiations with Japan and signaled intentions to pursue talks with China.

Leaders also addressed internal quotas and logistics surrounding their newly implemented provisional trade agreement with the European Union.
