MER-C Volunteers Stuck in South Gaza

Chairman of emergency medical team of the Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) Indonesia said that as many as 12 volunteers consisting of nine medical personnel and three non-medical personnel are stuck in south Gaza, because the Rafah crossing has been closed due to Israel’s land attack last week.Due to the closure of the crossing, the flows of people and humanitarian aid were disrupted.

He further said that currently volunteers are staying at a guest house in south Gaza, while waiting for information regarding the result of negotiation on their return to the homeland amid Israel’s attacks. At present, MER-C continues to coordinate with the World Health Organization, the Palestine Ministry of Health, and a number of stakeholders to rescue volunteers from south Gaza and Rafah.
