Memorial Service for Noto Peninsula Earthquake

The 1st of January marks one year since a powerful earthquake struck the Noto Peninsula in Japan. A memorial service was held in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture. 

It was organized by the prefectural government for the victims of the earthquake and torrential downpours which hit the area in September.

The ceremony was attended by Ishikawa governor Hase Hiroshi and Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru, along with members of bereaved families.
