Memorial park to be built in Nusantara

Indonesian President Joko Widodo led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of memorial park at Indonesia’s future capital city, Nusantara on Wednesday.  

In his address, President Widodo said that the park will be built to honor Indonesia’s heroes and founding fathers and will be built on an area of 2,034 square meters. The construction of the park will cost approximately 23.14 million US dollar. 

It will also have additional structures such as an altar area and stairs, and the development is expected to be completed in August 2024, as part of the preparation for the commemoration of Indonesia’s Independence Day.
