Mekong-Lancang Cooperation: Groundbreaking ceremony for mess room and workshop

Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye on Wednesday attended a groundbreaking ceremony for a mess room and workshop of the Shan State Ethnic Affairs and Vocational Training Center under the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund.

During the ceremony in Taunggyi, the Chief Minister said that construction of the 2-storey building of the Training Center has been 100 percent completed under the Cooperation Special Fund. The building will be upgraded into a four-storey one with the state budget fund of 785.735 million Kyats, the Chief Minister added.

Also, Deputy Chief of Mission Ms. Cao Jing from the Chinese Embassy stressed that the Mekong-Lancang cooperation holds the movement direction and focuses on development to improve people's lives.

China's support for the construction of the Shan State Ethnic Affairs and Vocational Training Center project reflects China's support for the integrated development of Myanmar's ethnic groups, she added. And, the Chief Minister presented a mosaic to the Deputy Chief of Mission as a memorable gift.

Then, the Chief Minister led the groundbreaking ceremony participated by the Deputy Chief of Mission and many other officials.
