Meeting with Staff: MONREC Union Minister meets with staff in Mawlamyine

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi met with staff from departments under the ministry in Mawlamyine on Sunday.

The Union Minister said the ministry is working to ensure sustainable use of natural resources and balanced forest and environmental conservation. He noted efforts to increase Myanmar’s forest cover to 50 percent and instructed officials to continue strengthening forest protection in Mon State, including mangrove conservation, biodiversity protection, and watershed management.

He also urged responsible extraction of natural resources, proper monitoring by officials at all levels, and adherence to civil service ethics. He encouraged staff to be reliable and respected public servants.

The Union Minister then inspected the office compound and staff housing area, and gave necessary instructions.
