Meeting with Staff: Discussion on food and drug administration

Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win accompanied by the Deputy Minister and Directors General under Ministry visited the Food and Drug Administration in Nay Pyi Taw on 28th August.

During the meeting with the staff, the Union Minister stressed to emphasize on assuring the safety and efficacy of food and drug products meeting the set standards. The Union Minister elaborated on systematic administration of the daily essential products such as drinking water, edible oil and dairy products.

He also provided necessary instructions on development of MSMEs, the regular operation of the laboratory in respective regions and states, drugs and vaccines administration, human resource development as well as the acceleration of market investigations.

The Deputy Minister also instructed the personnel to comply with the existing laws, by-laws and regulations in performing their respective duties, development of food manufacturing enterprises as well as the production of value-added products.

The attendees provided update reports on current work implementation of the FDA and the construction process of the Advanced Laboratory (B), and the Union Minister fulfilled the needs. After the meeting, the Union Minister oversaw the operation of newly constructed Advanced Laboratory (A) and (B), Biological Standards Laboratory and Drug Division and provided necessary instructions.
