Meeting for preparations: MoH UM gave necessary instructions

The Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win attended the meeting on preparation of health sector for the natural disasters used to occur in monsoon season was held at the Ministry of Health in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 23rd April.

At the meeting, the Union Minister stressed the need to prepare to mitigate the health problems caused by the natural disasters used to occur in the monsoon season, the tasks were carried out by holding the preparatory meeting and workshop last year, during the Cylone Mocha, the National Disaster Management Committee opened the Disaster Management Center and the Ministry of Health also opened the Public Health Emergency Operations Center and carried out the preparations prior to the cyclone and rehabilitation works aftermath of the storm, for enabling to carry out the preparations, the infectious diseases did not happen in the form of pandemic and the damage can be mitigated to the least, the Public Health Department in Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States need to form the emergency health teams, preparations, drills, collecting of medical equipment and medicines in advance etc.

Next, the Natural Disasters and Public Health Emergency Response Division clarified the work implementations done during 2023 and 2024 till the April and future action plans. Then, the staff officers of the Department of Public Health from the Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States discussed the implementation of health sector in the natural disasters occurred, good experiences gained, preparation for the coming monsoon season and requirements.

Next, the attendees to the meeting gave necessary suggestions for the tasks. After giving a speech of conclusion by the Union Minister professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, the meeting was concluded.
