Meeting with Officials : Efforts to double agricultural and livestock production

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung met with district and township level officials in Loilem District of Shan State, on August 20.

The Union Minister called for effective leadership, proper land management in accordance with the law, and strict compliance with standard operating procedures. The Union Minister urged officials to make annual plans to double agricultural and livestock production, especially sunflower and soybean, in Shan State.

Officials also reported on major crop production, oilseed farming zones, seed production, and plans to expand coffee, tea and macadamia cultivation in 2026–2027.
