Meeting with MRTV Staff: Union Minister for Information met with MRTV staff

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn visited Mahajanaka Monastery in Tatkone, Nay Pyi Taw on Monday, to inspect the ongoing repairs to the monastery's Dhamma hall, which was damaged by an earthquake.

He also inspected the concrete road repairs at Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) and met with the staff. The Union Minister first inspected the repair work on the Dhamma hall's ceiling and wall tiles at Mahajanaka Monastery. He coordinated the necessary work and then paid homage to the Presiding Sayadaw Bhaddanta Wunnaraha and offered the offertories.

Next, the Union Minister inspected the concrete road repair work at MRTV. He emphasized the importance of adhering to standards and completing the project on time. In a meeting room at MRTV, the Union Minister met with the international news translation team and news broadcasters.

He discussed key considerations for news dissemination and presented cash awards. In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with all MRTV staff in the auditorium.

He spoke on several important points, including providing accurate and factual news to the public, quickly identifying and debunking fake news and misinformation with complete and factual information, collaborating with artists in literature, film, theater, and music to foster a happy and balanced life for the public, actively participating in the process of ensuring the success of the multi-party democratic general election, which will begin on December 28, 2025. This includes efforts before, during, and after the election. Following his speech, the Union Minister greeted the staff warmly.
