Meeting on land management: MoALI Union Minister gave a speech at the meeting

The 13th meeting of the Cental Committee on Management of Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Land was held at the Minister’s Office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation in the afternoon on 31st January.

At the meeting, the Union Minister in his capacity as the Chairman of Central Committee said that in the implementation of the economic objective of the country “to enhance development based on agriculture and livestock-inclusive of entire ethnic people to ensure prosperity and food security of the nation using modern production techniques and to strengthen all-round development in other sectors of the economy’, by applying the vacant, fallow and virgin lands systematically, the permission of using those lands for agriculture, livestock breeding, extraction of minerals and other industries complied with the law and permitted by the government  are being granted.

Those who received the land permits need to use the land for agriculture and livestock breeding fully in line with the set rules and regulations within a given time. Only then, those who receive permit to use the land will acquire the suitable interest as well as the development of the production capacity as per the industry for the country. Next, the secretary of the central committee clarified the items to be discussed at the meetings and the central committee members discussed as per the matter.

During the 13th Central Committee meeting, reporting of case files with the comments replied by the  relevant Ministries, issue inspected and reported by the special task force due to lack of using the land exceeding given period of 4 years, issue on request for the reimbursement of insured deposit paid in line with the section-24 of Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Land Management Law and section-67 of by-law and the matters of depositing land tax to the Myanma Economic Bank by those who received the land use were discussed.
