Meeting on land management : MGY Region CM addressed the meeting

Magway Region Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Lands Management Committee held its meeting (1/2025) on January 11 and was attended by Committee Chairman Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin and Committee members.

During the meeting, Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, stated that the committee will focus on effectively managing land use, land settlement, and vacant lands in the region. This will be done with the aim of promoting employment opportunities for landless citizens, facilitating agricultural, livestock, and mining activities in accordance with government-approved laws, and ensuring proper use of vacant, unsettled, and unused lands. U Tint Lwin emphasized the importance of adhering to existing laws, regulations, procedures, and guidelines, and urged all related departments and organizations to work together to ensure success in achieving these objectives.

The meeting sought for granting permission or rejection on the cases including land utilization for cultivation of seasonal crops, industrial crops, orchard and perennial farms. It also includes permission for alternate use of farmland, and case study by Minbuu District.
