Meeting with IDPs in Mgway: MGY CM met with the IDPs from Kyindwe of Chin State

The internally displaced persons from Kyindwe Town, Kanpetlet Township in Chin State arrived in Magway City, Magway Region on September 8. The Chief Minister of Magway Region, U Tint Lwin, the Commander of the West Air Force Command Center, Ma-J Gen Thein Htun Oo, members of the region government, the Region Advocate General, and Region/District/Township level departmental officials met with the displaced persons.

They arranged necessary matters for the displaced people to stay at the temporary shelter set up at the Beikthanoe dormitory of Magway University and provided them with relief supplies.

The Chief Minister and officials cordially met with the internally displaced persons from Kyindwe Town in a friendly manner. They inquired about their needs and ensured that a systematic plan is being implemented for the temporary accommodation and food to provide displaced persons from Kyindwe.

The temporary accommodation at Magway University has been arranged, and there are plans to build separate quarters and construct houses within three weeks. Additionally, efforts will be made to ensure the displaced individuals have access to decent living conditions and employment opportunities.

The government of Magway Region, along with the Department of Disaster Management, the Myanmar Red Cross Society, and the Department of Rural Development, has provided support to the internally displaced persons who arrived in Magway Township from Kyindwe Town, Chin State.

They distributed relief items to 33 households, totaling 104 individuals. The assistance included emergency supplies (16 types), kitchenware (8 types), household items (11 types), drinking water containers, cooking utensils, personal items for men and women (11 types), tarps, and 10-liter water containers.
