




Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Kyaw Soe Win met with hotel owners, general managers, and responsible personnel from the hotels located in Hotel Zone (2), Ottarathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on the morning of July 10.
The meeting was held at the Nila Hall of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism in Nay Pyi Taw. During the meeting, the Union Minister stated that the Ministry is coordinating necessary support to help hotels affected by the recent Mandalay earthquake quickly resume operations.
The meeting was convened to hear directly from hotel owners, general managers, and responsible officials from Hotel Zone (2) on how the government can provide support for the rapid resumption of hotel operations. He emphasized that the government is currently implementing sector-by-sector rescue and rehabilitation efforts for the areas affected by the earthquake, and that the hotel and tourism industry must also carry out recovery efforts so that services are ready for the upcoming tourism season.
The Ministry, he added, is committed to providing the necessary assistance and support to enable hotels to resume operations as quickly as possible. Following that, hotel owners, general managers, and responsible personnel explained the current situation regarding damages and losses, the status of clearing and removal of damaged areas, reconstruction progress, the operational status of hotels, and the difficulties they are encountering.
The Union Minister and ministry officials coordinated on the necessary matters, and the Union Minister concluded the session with closing remarks.
