Meeting with the Entrepreneurs: MoI UM met with the entrepreneurs in Yangon

Union minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than gave an opening remark at the meeting with the textile and garment entrepreneurs who are operating the factories in joint-venture with the Ministry of Industry at the Department of Industrial Supervision and Inspection in Mayangone Township of Yangon Region in the morning on 23rd June.

In his remark, the Union Minister said that the meeting is conducted to know the conditions of the goods production, distribution, utilization of raw materials and status of inputs of the companies which hired the factory and properties from the Ministry of Industry and to fulfill the requirements.

The Ministry has 2 departments and 4 enterprises and the factories, workshops, properties that have been on lease to the private entrepreneurs. Relating to the textile and garment industry, 26 factories and16 properties were granted on long term lease.

As the gap of market price between the ones in the period of granting the lease and the current period is large, the appropriate condition is needed to create and gave other necessary instructions. Next, the responsible persons of the companies which hired the factories and properties form the Ministry clarified the operation and work implementation and the difficulties encountered in the work implementation and the Union Minister coordinated requirements and gave a speech of conclusion.

After that, the Union Minister met with the officers serving at the Ministry in Yangon Region at the Pharmaceutical Factory (Insein) in Insein Township in the afternoon and the Union Minister gave the guidelines and necessary instructions to the officers.

Then, the Managing Directors, Deputy Directors General clarified the work implementations as per the industry and the work undertakings for the development of the industrial zones. Next, the Managing Directors provided cash assistance for the personnel serving under the Ministry in Yangon Region, the responsible officials accepted and the Union Minister gave a speech of conclusion.
