



The Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe met diplomatic staff assigned to Myanmar embassies, permanent missions, and consulate-general abroad.
The meeting was held on January 7, at the Ayeyawady Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw, where the Deputy Prime Minister Union minister delivered guidance to the departing officials. According to the program, the officials who will be assigned to Myanmar embassies, permanent missions, and consulate-general abroad introduced themselves and the countries they have served in, as well as the countries they are about to be posted to.
After these introductions, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe delivered a speech, stating that the most important responsibility of a diplomat is to be loyal and dedicated to the country and its people.
He emphasized that a diplomat must possess the necessary skills, qualifications, and abilities to carry out their duties competently. Only with these qualities can one raise their own value and contribute effectively. Since diplomats are entrusted with significant responsibilities, it is crucial that they continuously strive to improve their qualifications, skills, and performance.
He also mentioned that diplomats must remain vigilant and observant of international developments and carry out their duties with wisdom and consideration for the benefit of their country and the strengthening of bilateral relations.
Diplomatic work requires excellent negotiation skills, and diplomats must adhere to the rules, regulations, and protocols that govern their positions. They were reminded to preserve their rights and privileges as diplomats responsibly and avoid any misuse. The speech concluded with encouragement to carry out their duties diligently, upholding the country's interests and promoting strong international relations.
