




The ceremony where the Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister addressed the officials and staff who will be serving at Myanmar embassies, permanent missions, and consulate-general abroad was held in the Ayeyawady Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw on March 10.
As part of the ceremony's agenda, the officials and staff who will be serving at embassies, permanent missions, and consulate-general abroad introduced themselves individually, mentioning the countries where they previously served and the countries where they will now be serving. Following these introductions, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe delivered his remarks. He expressed his joy and pride in the selection and assignment of the officials and staff to serve abroad.
He emphasized that the most important duty of a diplomat is to remain loyal and respectful to the state and the nation. He stated that a diplomat must possess quality, competence, and the ability to act with discernment to enhance their own value.
He noted that being a diplomat means carrying out significant responsibilities with minimal manpower, and therefore, diplomats must continuously strive to improve and excel in their diplomatic qualities. He further instructed them to courageously perform duties that benefit the country and the people, to be aware of the rules and ethics they must follow, and to live in accordance with diplomatic ethics while carrying out their assigned responsibilities with sincerity and clear objective etc.
