Meeting On Contract Farming: Production Of Rice And Mung Bean

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Development of Rural Areas U Hla Moe on Thursday attended a meeting on production of rice and mung bean with contract farming under the cooperative sector.
In the meeting at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw, the Union Minister to support companies and cooperative enterprises which will produce rice and mung bean with contract farming to get agricultural cost. The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation will focus on the contract farming.
Field record will be made along with explanation of advantages of contract farming among farmers and growers. Village cooperative enterprises will be established after selecting able farmers and growers as members of the Board of Directors, the Union Minister added. Also, Deputy Minister U Myint Soe stressed the issues that must be coordinated for successful implementation of the contract farming. Plans and sector-wide cooperation were also explained and discussed.
