The Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, met with the Chief Ministers of Regions and States who attended the opening ceremony of the Union-level MSME Product Exhibition and Competition at the Bayintnaung Hall in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

During the meeting, SAC Chairman delivered a speech and provided financial assistance from the National Natural Disaster Management Fund for people displaced due to terrorist activities. In his opening remarks, the SAC Chairman stated that due to the current situation in the country, the term of the service had been extended by an additional six months.

He emphasized that maintaining stability and peace would be a priority during this period, and the Chief Ministers of Regions and States must strive to ensure regional stability and socio-economic development in respective areas. He noted that the government had increased salaries and allowances for civil servants to alleviate their difficulties.

He explained that the rise in commodity prices was due to the foreign currency shortages and increased domestic production costs. He highlighted that foreign exchange is earned not only through trade but also through non-trade activities. During the previous two democratic government terms, the foreign exchange requirement exceeded 24 billion USD, which was met through foreign loans, aid, and non-trade earnings.

However, during this tenure, foreign loans have not been accessible, so the prompting efforts to boost domestic production are being made. He also mentioned that while other countries receive significant foreign remittances from citizens working abroad, Myanmar has not achieved the desired level, and efforts are being made to improve this.

The Prime Minister further discussed measures to increase agricultural and livestock production, ensure security, rule of law, and transportation safety, promote MSME development, improve education and healthcare infrastructure, preparing for free and fair multi-party democratic general elections, and financial assistance to people temporarily displaced due to terrorist activities. Following this, the Chief Ministers of Regions and States presented the needs and ongoing activities in their respective areas.

Subsequently, the Chairmen of the Industrial Development Commission, Electricity and Energy Development Commission, and Agriculture and Livestock Development Commission, along with Union Ministers and SAC Joint Secretary discussed the relevant matters.

Then, SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win, addressed issues related to the Summoning People's military Servants, MSME enterprises, the Union-level MSME Product Exhibition and Competition, and the situation in border areas.

The SAC Chairman Prime Minister supplemented the discussions with additional remarks. Following this, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister provided financial assistance to people temporarily displaced due to the terrorist activities, which was received by the Chief Ministers of Regions and States, including the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman.
