Meeting of Central Leading Board: Chairman of CLB MoI UM gave a speech

The Central Leading Board of the Prevention of Hazard from Chemical and Related held its meeting (1/2024) at the Ministry of Industry office No (30 in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 14th May.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of Central Leading Board Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than, Vice Chairman Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Board members Union Ministers U Khin Maung Yi, U Nyan Tun, U Ko Ko Lwin, U Myint Naung, Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, Deputy Ministers from the ministries of Transport and Communications, Home Affairs, Planning and Finance, Border Affairs, Agriculture, live and Irrigation, Industry, Commerce and Education and Senior officials, Chairman of UMFCCI, Deputy Chief of Defense Equipment Production, professor/head of Department (Chemistry) of Yangon University and officials under the Ministry of Industry.

In his remark, Chairman of Central Leading Board Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than elaborated the the implementation of project regarding with the establishment of original laboratory which will test the chemicals and related substances to be completed within 5 years and the establishment of Chemical Management Center were conducted coordinated discussion.

Although the construction works of original laboratory was initiated as of 2020 in the compound of Research Center in Insein Township of Yangon Region have completed and the laboratory equipment and furniture have also been filled, but there is a requirement of skilled personnel who will conduct the laboratory tests to be able to open the laboratory.

During this meeting, the board members need to discuss issuing notifications regarding with Ethylene Oxide and seek the approval. The attendees are invited to discuss openly in line with the law, by-law, order, directives focusing on the country and the people and the development of national interest facilitating the industrial production.

Next, the secretary of Central Leading Board reported the status of work implementations of Central Leading Board and Central Supervisory Board and the comments to be decided by the Central Leading Board.

Then, the Vice Chairman of Central Leading Board Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Union Ministers U Khin Maung Yi, U Ko Ko Lwin, U Myint Naung, Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, Deputy Ministers, Chairmen of YCDC and MCDC, UMFCCI and officials discussed the related matters and the Chairman of Central Leading Board gave a speech of conclusion, it’s reported.
