Meeting with Business Community: MoC UM held meeting with officials and business community

Union Minister for Commerce U Chit Swe held a meeting with relevant departmental officials, local community leaders, associations, and business owners at the Gold Delta Rice Mill compound in Danubyu Township, Ayeyawady Region on December 2 and delivered a speech. The Union Minister stated in his address that agricultural and livestock products play a major role in contributing to national income.

Therefore, the Government is procuring necessary supplies and inputs for the production chain of this sector from abroad on a monthly basis. He noted that in today's global market, the emphasis on product quality for selection and price competition are challenging the production of nations. He urged all stakeholders to collaborate in producing market-oriented export products and obtaining favorable prices in accordance with global market demands.

Subsequently, representatives from companies directly exporting rice and rice products, as well as producers, explained the status of cultivation, milling output, and export potential of local agricultural produce. The Union Minister discussed their presentations and coordinated necessary support.

On the morning of December 1, the Union Minister attended meetings with departmental officials, community leaders, associations, and business owners at the Myanaung Township Sports Ground in Myanaung Township, Ayeyawady Region and delivered speeches.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister held a meeting with departmental officials, community leaders, associations, and business owners at the assembly hall of Basic Education High School (Thapyaykone )) in Thapyaykone village. During these meetings, Union Minister stated in his opening remarks that Ayeyawady Region primarily focuses on agriculture and livestock farming, greatly contributing to national economic development. He emphasized the need for collective efforts to achieve production targets and produce market-oriented agricultural crops, to further develop livestock farming and MSME production businesses, and to process agricultural produce into value-added products for both domestic consumption and export.

Following this, the Chairman of the Myanmar Rice Federation, U Ye Min Aung, explained the domestic and international market situations and prices related to Myanmar's rice and broken rice, as well as the status of producing and exporting high-quality rice in cooperation with the Myanmar Rice Millers Association. Later, attendees presented issues they wished to know and difficulties they were facing. The Union Minister discussed their submissions and coordinated necessary actions, it’s reported.
