Meet Pamuk, Antalya’s lovely pet duck

In Antalya, Turkiye, an unusual visitor has become a familiar sight in parks and along the seafront: a pet duck named Pamuk. The five-year-old duck accompanies her owner, Zeynep Gemalmaz, almost everywhere, from city streets to playgrounds, where she is seen sliding down slides and swinging like children.

The pair also travel together by car, drawing attention from passersby. Unlike typical farm ducks, Pamuk lives indoors and joins her owner on daily walks and outings. Gemalmaz said she had not initially planned to adopt a duck, but carried out extensive research on care and nutrition before raising Pamuk at home.

The duck’s presence often surprises people in the streets, with many stopping to watch or take photos. While some make jokes due to her being a farm animal, Gemalmaz said Pamuk has become a natural part of her life.
