Medical Services: MOH Union Minister visits Yangon Specialist Hospital

In the afternoon of 19th July, Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win together with concerned officials visited the Yangon Specialists Hospital (500 Bedded) and encouraged the patient who successfully had kidney transplant surgery for the 57th time on 6th July 2023.

The biological sister of the patient donated her kidney to the patient. The donor was discharged from the hospital on 13th July and she is now in good health. And also, the patient’s health conditions is in progress and is under the close supervision of the professors and specialist doctors to continue treatment.

Then, the Union Minister met with medical superintendent, the professors/specialists, doctors, nurses and medical staff in the meeting room of the hospital. During the meeting, he said that the Yangon Specialist Hospital (500 Bedded) was opened with the aim of providing special treatment.

He urged all to make continuous efforts to improve organ transplant surgery cases. After that, the Union Minister visited the Department of Medical Research and attended the National Vaccination Technical Advisory Committee meeting.

In his opening speech, the Union Minister said Myanmar has successfully overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. At present, efforts are being made to accelerate normal health care activities including the immunization program.

He urged the National Vaccination Technical Advisory Committee to give suggestions for implementation of Supplementary Immunization activities and Catch-up Immunization campaign. The officials later reported on the coverage conditions and expanded vaccination routine, COVID-19 vaccination activities and future plans.
