Medical Services: MOH Union Minister inspects Children’s Hospital

Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win along with the officials observed the medical treatment activities at 550-Bedded Yankin Children’s Hospital in the morning on 18th July.

First, the Union Minister inspected the medical treatment activities at Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory where the respective professor/heads of departments made the explanations.

Next, the Union Minister met with the responsible officials of the hospital and instructed about the smooth facilitation of medical treatment activities. Then, medical superintendent and respective professor/heads of departments reported the implementation works of the hospital and on which, the Union Minister and Director General from Department of Medical Services Dr. Myat Wunna Soe supplemented the needs upon the clarifications.

Afterwards, the Union Minister and responsible officials inspected medical services at Yangon Children’sHospital. Then, the Union Minister met with officials from the hospital and he said that the relevant officials are required to monitor to be good relationship with the patients, it is also needed to conduct Fever Surveillance, and collaborative efforts are to put into monitoring mosquito related infectious diseases with the Department of Public Health.

Then, the Union Minister supplanted the necessary upon the clarification of the medical superintendent and the responsible officials. At the Department of Medical Research, the Union Minister along with the concerned officials met with the heads from Township Public Health Services in Yangon region. There, he said that Pneumonia and Encephalitis outbreaks are being occurred in this rainy season and efforts are being made not to happen Vaccine Preventable Diseases implementing to get fully coverage of vaccine for the under 5 children. The attendees township medical doctors are needed to report the plans for the improvement of Routine Immunization coverage and Migrant Population are to be listed systematically in the respective townships and it is needed to implement to get fully vaccine coverage including Pocket area and to conduct fighting against the communicable diseases.

Then, Dr. Tin Thitsar Lwin, director of Central Expanded Programmed on Immunization Division explained about the ongoing plans and the regular vaccine coverage conditions of Yangon region in details. Later, the respective heads from the Township Public Health and Medical Services reported immunization coverage situations in the respective townships and on which, the Union Minister and Director General of the Department of Public health  Dr. Myint Myint Than instructed the needs and supplemented necessary.
