Media Sector: MoI Union Minister receives the Indian delegation

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn received Chairman of Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia Mr. ShirumallaVenkat Narayan of India and party in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

During the meeting, they frankly discussed the matters related to cooperation in media sector between India and Myanmar, reforming the Global New Light of Myanmar Newspaper and describing the news of border trade between the two countries in the newspaper, scholarship programme for the Myanmar trainees at the Media schools opened in India, conducting to express the news interested by the Foreign medias, signing MoU for the development of the media sector, harmonious cooperation between State media and independent media and the journalist exchange program between the two countries.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, the Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung and departmental heads.
