Medals Conferment Ceremony: Conferring Military Gallantry Medals to the recipients

A ceremony to confer honorary medals for military gallantry performances was held at the Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday.

Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing delivered a speech at the event. He said that it is an inborn duty of every citizen to safeguard the independence and sovereignty of the nation.

In fulfilling this historic duty, those who sacrificed their lives for the country have been honored deservingly. He stressed that the Tatmadaw has been serving the nation and its people, upholding its genuine nationalistic duty despite challenges caused by internal insurgency, idealism, and sectarianism. He also recognized the bravery of the families of Tatmadawmen in national defence duties, supporting the noble mission of the Tatmadaw. He urged all to continue striving to become good citizens who can pass down the legacy of independence to the next generation.

During the ceremony, the Senior General presented gallantry medals to 34 recipients, including 4 Brig-Generals, 2 Colonels, 8 Lt-Colonels, 9 Majors, 4 Captains, 1 Warrant Officer, 1 Sergeant, 3 Corporals, and 2 Lance Corporals.
