


Union Minister for Agriculture, Lifestock and Irrigation U Min Naung inspected the Machanized Farming Project being inplemented in Aung Zeya, Mau Taw and Thet Hnin Inn Village-Tract, Zeyathiri Township ,Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on Wednesday. They observed cultivation of summer paddy, using the seedling equipment.
In response to the reports by the farmers, the Union Minister instructed the relevent departments to provide comprehensive assistance on seed, soil, water and technology requirements for summer rice cultivation and to complete the systematic expansion of farmland within the specified period. Over 274 acres farmland owned by 95 farmers from Aung Zaya, Mau Taw and Thet Hnin Inn village-tracts in the northeast of Pin Laung Junction in Zeyathiri Township, are being developed as a mechanized farmland. It covers 34,660 feet long irrigation canal, over 271,00 feet long drainage canal and 119 water pipe structures along with more than 23,000 feet long production road.
Currently, out of the 100 acres completed lands, 80 acres have been irrigated from the Naraban Creek temporary dam and summer paddy planting has begun on 20 acres using seeding equipment.
