Measures for Regional Progress: Union Minister oversees regional dev’t measures and paddy cultivation

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe together with concerned officials made field inspection for the implementation of regional development and monsoon paddy cultivation in Lewe Township of Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.

Upon arrival at the Yone Taw village of Lewe Township, the Union Minister and party cordially met with the locals. The officials from Rural Development Department of Lewe Township reported the village development tasks, measures to provide irrigated water with the use of solar energy and the work undertakings.

In response to the reports, the Union Minister discussed about the cultivation of triple crops to increase the income of rural people and providing seeds, fertilizers and inputs for the farmers to increase yield. It’s necessary to expand cultivation of quality rice varieties and the Ministry will provide to get sufficient irrigated water and agriculture techniques for farmers, he added.

Then, he coordinated the requirements upon the reports. Next, the Union Minister and party inspected the upgrading of the village entrance road, gave instructions for the long-term durability of the road and oversaw the monsoon paddy cultivation.
