Measures for arrival of more visitors: Over 80 hotels are opened in Rakhine State

There are a total of over 100 licensed hotels and guest houses in Rakhine State and currently more than 80 hotels are opened. For the accommodation of visitors, the State-owned Mrauk-U hotel will be opened before Thingyan.

Efforts are being made to implement the hotels in Rakhine State as the green zone. The Directorate of Hotels and Tourism in Rakhine State said that there are 52 licensed hotels and 50 guest houses in Rakhine State, altogether 102.

Among them, 46 hotels and 41 guest houses, totaling 87 are operated. The bookings for hotels inNgapali aregoing up for Thingyan period and the hotels areselling online after making an offer.As a special for this year, a local travel and tour agency is offering package tour for Mrauk-U.

Through Sittway, Mrauk-U tour is arranged.  The Head of State has given guidance that the hotels in Rakhine State are to be made as a green zone to attract more tourists. It is expected that the domestic visitors will arrive in Rakhine State more than the previous year. For the foreign visitors, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism is making earnest efforts for seeking Chinese and Russian markets.
