Maungdaw trade zone: Putting effort for the development and boosting trade

Regarding with the export sector, agricultural products, marine products, industrial finished goods are mainly exported to Bangladesh via Maungdaw border trade route.

In 2022-2023 fiscal year, the agricultural products such as 16 tons of onion, 1,216 tons of betel nuts, 716 tons of raw gingers, more than 730 tons of jengkol, 140 tons of jaggery, 6 tons of white silk cotton, 3 tons of turmeric root, over 330 tons of coconuts, 8 tons of chickpeas, 4 tons of tamarind, 5 tons of groundnuts, 20 tons of mung beans, 1,000 tons of dried plums and 27 tons of tomatoes altogether over 4,200 tons of agricultural products worth 2.224 million USD were exported.

For the further development of trading from Maungdaw trade zone,  the departments collaborated to render one stop service, traders and relevant departments are invited to hold a meeting for trade promotion once a month and coordinated the matters on the trade.
