




Residents near Shwethalyaung Hill are advised to evacuate due to the risk of a massive rock collapsing.
Following the powerful earthquake and several aftershocks that struck Myanmar on March 28th, a large rock named Kyauk Thit Tar, located on Shwethalyaung Hill in Su Gyi Ward of KyaukSe Township, Mandalay Region, is at risk of collapsing. A
uthorities have issued an urgent warning for local residents living under the hill to evacuate to a temporary relief camp, which has been set up in Phaung Ywar village. Those residing in the vicinity of Lay Myet Nar Pagoda, along Zay Street, at the foot of Shwethalyaung Hill, and in the Min Ye Myaung area are advised to evacuate to the relief camp within two days starting April 3rd.
The National Disaster Management Committee has already dispatched experts and geologists to observe the hanging rock and assess the situation.
