Martial Law Orders: SAC issued Martial Law Order Nos 10, 11 and 12/2023

The State Administration Council issued Martial Law Orders Nos 10, 11 and 12/2023 on Sunday.
The order described that the State Administration Council has entrusted Martial Law power related to administration and judicial measures to the Commanders of North-East Command and Laukkai Regional Command under Section 419 of the Constitution to exercise more effective undertakings for ensuring security, the rule of law and local peace and tranquility in Kutkai, Kunlon, Namtkham, Muse, Lashio and Theinni, Konegyan and Laukkai Townships in Shan State.
The military command commanders themselves can exercise Martial Law power as well as transfer the power to military region commanders depending on the timely changing of situations.
According to the orders, local administration bodies in the areas which have been placed under the Martial Law shall carry out the tasks concerned with them under the command of the Commanders of Northeast Command and Laukkai Regional Command.
The Commanders shall designate the martial law areas in the region, and with the martial law orders, they can appoint commanders for the martial law areas with the approval of the State Administration Council.
The Commanders shall accomplish the administration and judiciary tasks by themselves, or commanders of the martial law areas or an appropriate person or a body they transferred the power.
The Commanders can form an advisory body for martial law to get assistance for performing their duties. The Commanders shall report to the Chairman of the State Administration Council on the situation of the martial law areas.
