The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation is actively working to secure permission for marine product exports to Saudi Arabia, in response to market demand. On January 10th, Deputy Minister Dr. Aung Gyi visited Two Rivers Company Limited in Insein Township, Yangon.
During the visit, he inspected the fish and shrimp processing and packaging facilities and heard the reports on advanced freezing technology used for foreign exports to various international markets.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the need to implement the Best Aquaculture Practice (BAP) for foreign exports, following Fisheries Department’s guidelines. He urged efforts to ensure high-quality marine products in compliance with importing countries' regulations at every stage. He then proceeded to the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department in Insein and met veterinary science students.
During the meeting, he called for continued study of disease prevention and control and provided nutritional supplements to students. Upon the arrival at HlaingThaya Industrial Zone, the Deputy Minister reviewed fish and shrimp processing for exports to multiple countries in Mega Marine Frozen Seafood Co.,ltd, HlaingHtateKhaung Cold Store& Processing Plant and ShweMyinn Company. He then instructed BAP system implementation and inspected the plants.
