Maravijaya Monastery: Inauguration ceremony held in Maravijaya Buddha Park

A ceremony to inaugurate Maravijaya Monastery in the precinct of Maravijaya Buddha Park was held on Sunday. The event was graced by the presence of Venerable Sayadaws, led by the Patron Sayadaw of PyinmanaPali University, MingalaZayyon Monastery, as well as the Sayadaws who are set to reside in the newly inaugurated Maravijaya Monastery.

Before the commencement of the ceremony, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing offered emerald rice bowl, fruits, flowers and water to the Buddha Image.

Then, the biographies of the five Sayadaws who will reside in the Maravijaya Monastery were introduced. The ceremony formally began with the recitation of "NamoTasa" three times. The Prime Minister and wife and the congregation received the Five Precepts from the Pali University Sayadaw.

Then, the Prime Minister, wife and families offered the documents related to the monastery to the Presiding Sayadaw. This was followed by donation of offertories to the Sayadaws by the Prime Minister and wife, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win and wife.

The congregation later shared the merits gained and the ceremony concluded. After the ceremony, the Prime Minister and party offered day meal to the Sayadaws.
