






Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing together with the officials observed progress of the construction of Maravijaya Buddha Image at the Buddha Park in Dekkina Thiri township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on Thursday.
At the briefing hall, Lt-Gen Kan Myint Than from the office of Commander-In-Chief (Army) reported on progress of works, sculpturing small buddha images, progress of the construction, offering the painting robe to the Buddha Image and installation of the throne.
Quartermaster General Lt-Gen Kyaw Swa Lin clarified completed construction of religious buildings, water fountain squares, pagoda platform, reliquary, Mucalinda lake and Nagayone pagoda, among others.
Next, the Prime Minister and party observed progress of the construction of Maravijaya Buddha image, flagstaff, reliquary, MahaBawdi tree, construction of Sasana Beikman, Sudhammapublic rest-houses, water fountain square, stone inscription chamber Cetis, Nagayone pagoda and Mucalinda lake and thriving kyee tree.
The Prime Minister then supplemented on the reports of officials. Maravijaya Buddha Image was built with the aims to show flourishing of Buddha Sasana in Myanmar to the world, to make Myanmar the center of Theravada Buddhism, to ensure prosperity of the nation and to make the world peaceful.
For the construction of Buddha image, the marble stones were conveyed by Modular Trailers to Nay Pyi Taw step by step among the difficulties. The marble stones arrived Nay Pyi Taw were sculptured with CNC Machines by experts with day in and out.
The large part of the Buddha Image which was attached to parts (1/2/3) of the Buddha imaged was conveyed to the jeweled throne starting January 26th and it was successfully brought to the throne for worshipping on 31st January.
The ceremonies to enshrine precious gems and jewelries donated by well-wishers led by the Leading donor Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister to the centers upper the jeweled throne were held on 27th January and 10th February.
On 11th February, the ceremony of conveying 4th part of the Buddha image was held and now, the sculpturing of the Buddha image has completed 97 percent. Like sculpturing the Buddha image, other religious building including Sansabeikman which can capacitate 900 monks and 1200 congregation are being constructed.
In accord with the advice of venerable Buddhist monks, Pitakat treatises in line with the copies in the 6th Buddha Synod are being carved on marble plaques in Pali and Romanized languages with the use of modern machinery.
Moreover, arrangements are being made to print Pitakat treatises in Pali and Romanized languages to be distributed to monasteries across the world. So far, construction of the religious edifices and Buddha Park is 86 per cent completed.
