Maravijaya Buddha Image: Open for public homage with free entry from 8th to 16th August

Public will be allowed to pay homage to the Maravijaya Buddha Image free of charge from 8th to 16th August. The Maravijaya Buddha Image is the tallest sitting Marble Buddha Image in the world, established in the Buddha Park, situated in DeckkhinaThiri Township of the Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw.

The consecration ceremony of the Buddha Image took place on 1st August, the full moon day of the second Waso, amidst grand celebrations. This religious complex includes repositories, ThudhammaZayats, or public rest houses, a water fountain, monastery and Sasana Beikman, as well as 720 Stone Inscription Cetis, each contains two marble plaques bearing the imprint of the Treatises of Tripitakas in Pali and Romanized languages.

Currently, clearing tasks are underway to remove the facilities used during the August 1st grand ceremonies.
