Mann Shwe Sett Taw Pagoda: Teeming with pilgrims on Waso full-moon day

The full moon day of Waso (Dhammacakka day) is a holy day for Myanmar Buddhists and also this auspicious day is a special occasion for all Buddhists when they took precepts from the Members of Sangha and performed good deeds in pagodas across Myanmar.

On this holy day, pagodas across the country are teeming with worshippers from morning to night. Also in Mann Shwe Sett Taw Pagoda, also well-known as a historically prominent pagoda, pilgrims from all regions and states come to pay homage to this pagoda.

Vice Chairman, Pagoda Board of Trustees, Thein Hlaing said "Around 30 pilgrims in average come to visit Mann Shwe Sett Taw Pagoda daily. On the full moon day and other special occasions, this pagoda was crowded with a large number of pilgrims."

Member, Pagoda Board of Trustees, Maung Maung Win said "All Buddhists will gain merits by reciting religious verses. Special thanks to the members of pagoda board of trustees who organized these recitation ceremonies."

Religious ceremonies and religious verses recitations were also held at Mann Shwe Sett Taw pagoda.

For pilgrims to enable to pay homage and to accommodate overnight comfortably, preparation measures are underway for clean-up tasks at the pagoda platform of the Upper and Lower Sett Taw Yar and for better water and sanitation.
