Mandalay Thingyan: SAC Member visits pavilions for celebration

People in Mandalay have been celebrating the Myanmar traditional Thingyan water festival since the 13th of March. On the 14th of March, Member of the State Administration Council U Maung Ko, Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung and many other officials visited the pavilions and participated in the Thingyan celebration.

Thingyan is the Myanmar’s New Year Festival that usually occurs in middle of April. The dates of the festival are observed as public holidays throughout the country, and are part of the summer holidays at the end of the school year. This year, the Myanmar traditional Thingyan water festival falls from the 13th to the 16th of April.
