Man rescued in Türkiye, 278 hours after earthquake

Rescuers on Friday pulled a man alive from under the debris of a building in Antakya, 278 hours after a powerful earthquake struck Türkiye and Syria. Footage showed 40-year-old Hakan Yasinoglu being carried to an ambulance.

Search teams working overnight had earlier rescued a woman and two men alive from wreckage. The latest rescues came as crews began clearing up debris in cities devastated by the earthquake. The Turkish disaster management agency has updated the death toll from the powerful earthquake in Türkiye to 38,044.The overall number of fatalities in both Türkiye and Syria now stands at 41,732.
